Maryland Pharmacists Association (MPhA) Student Members are invited to submit an application for a scholarship sponsored by MPhA and MPhA Foundation. MPhA's mission is to promote excellence in pharmacy practice, strengthen the profession of pharmacy, and advocate for all Maryland Pharmacists, while the MPhA Foundation invests in the future of pharmacy by supporting student pharmacists, recognizing practice innovation and advancements, and enhancing philanthropy that supports leadership. Together we support students' educational efforts as they prepare to take their place in the profession.

 PHARMACY TECHNICIAN
CERTIFICATION BOARD (PTCB)

PTCB was established in 1995 by the American Pharmacists AssociationAmerican Society of Health-System PharmacistsIllinois Council of Health-System Pharmacists; and Michigan Pharmacists Association; and joined by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy in 2001. PTCB advocates for a single national standard for pharmacy technician certification that is recognized and supported by the profession. Establishing a national standard for pharmacy technician certification is consistent with the approach used by other health professions, including the pharmacist licensure process. PTCB advances medication safety by certifying technicians who are qualified to support pharmacists and patient care teams in all practice settings.

 SCHOOLS OF PHARMACY


Currently, there are three schools of pharmacy in the state of Maryland. Student pharmacists participate actively within the Maryland Pharmacists Association as well as the pharmacy profession in Maryland. MPhA actively supports the educational and professional efforts of all three programs. Notre Dame of Maryland University (NDMU) School of Pharmacy offers a four-year PharmD program established in 2008. It is located in northern Baltimore. 

University of Maryland Baltimore (UMB) School of Pharmacy offers a four-year PharmD program established in 1841. It  is located in downtown Baltimore. 

University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) offers a three-year PharmD program established in 2010. It is located in Princess Anne county on the Eastern shore.

A free website publishing pharmaceutical, over-the-counter, and nutraceutical medication information. RxWiki also serves as a community network for pharmacists to create and share information for their patients and consumers at large, and to collaborate in the advancement of Medication Therapy Management (MTM).
